{"id":8001,"date":"2021-02-11T10:12:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-11T09:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nctmelarte.it\/?p=8001"},"modified":"2024-06-04T11:39:43","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T09:39:43","slug":"francesco-bertocco-e-rachele-maistrello-webinar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nctmelarte.it\/en\/francesco-bertocco-e-rachele-maistrello-webinar\/","title":{"rendered":"Francesco Bertocco and Rachele Maistrello, webinar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>This talk forms part of <em>nctm e l\u2019arte<\/em>\u2019s cycle of talks dedicated to the topic of healthcare and the right to well-being<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>It will be focused on the artistic practice of\n<strong>Francesco\nBertocco<\/strong> and <strong>Rachele Maistrello<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the project <em>Historia<\/em>, which is\ncurrently nearing completion, Bertocco explores the topic of care as a factor\nof identity affirmation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His focus goes to the contrast between official\nWestern-style medicine and system medicine in a country &#8211; Chile &#8211; where the\nethnic tension between the majority population and the original ethnic groups\nis still unresolved. Here, the theme played a central role in the protests\nunleashed in autumn 2018 by the Mapuche and Aymara populations, which focused,<em> inter alia<\/em>, on the political claim to the right to\ntraditional treatment practices. The artist thus addresses the issue of\npolitical, ideological and social-and-cultural choices, combining the issue of care\nwith the colonial and post-colonial dynamics that shape today&#8217;s world in all\nits aspects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Francesco Bertocco, with his project <em>Historia <\/em>curated by Viafarini with Mariagrazia Muscatello, won the seventh edition of the Italian Council competition (2019), a competition devised by the <em>Direzione Generale Arte e Architettura contemporanee e Periferie urbane<\/em> (DGAAP) of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rachele Maistrello&#8217;s Stella Maris project, on\nthe other hand, stems from sympathetic contact with the guests of a nursing\nhome in the Venetian lagoon. The place is surrounded by the sea and nature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through a succession of conversations and the\ncreation of drawings, the artist evokes traces of personal stories and, at the\nsame time, gives life to new imaginative forms linked to water, the context and\npersonal iconographies.
