Bros (Daniele Nicolosi)

Daniele Nicolosi, alias Bros, is one of the most recognized authors of Italian street art.

His language is clear, straightforward, with a pop background.

The work Untitled (suspended drawing), is based on a perceptive game between figure and background, with a collage of cards in the form of bricks framed by the white background that emerges between one tile and another. We tend to see a wall. This gives shape to the idea of a limit, but also of its possible overcoming.

The work is related to the project Suspended Drawing realized between 2018 and 2019, in a period in which Bros was confined at home, having to serve at home a custody sentence for “vandalism”.
As he himself told in an interview with Corriere della Sera: «It is an experiment in democratic art and after all the logic of «donating» images is already inherent in Street Art practice. I told myself that the making of public art did not strictly require painting in open spaces, that people could come to me instead of me going to them with my murals. You can see it as an exhibition non-exhibition, which will spread everywhere in town to where my drawings end». [1]
