Raziel Perin
Raziel Perin (El Valle, Dominican Republic, 1992 – he moved to Italy in 1996).
Raziel Perin’s series of drawings Corpi Liberi evokes moments of revelation or focus that elucidate the sense of our living conditions.
Perin sketches a series of blurred, moving bodies on which signs, auras, reflections appear: haloes of glow that refer to episodes of particular density, fragments of memories that have remained imprinted.
In creating his works, the artist draws on a syncretic sensibility due to the strong link with Afro-Caribbean culture transmitted to him by his family. Through a soft and auroral drawing technique, the diasporic imagery is thus combined with an everyday life experience of which experiences of sudden clarity are also part.
