nctm e l’arte presents a meeting with the Cuban artist Carlos Garaicoa, on the occasion of the recent acquisition of the work Nuevas arquitecturas
With Nuevas arquitecturas Garaicoa puts in check the magniloquence and monumentality that are generally associated with architecture, in favour of other qualities such as poetic charge and the ability to resonate heartstrings. He tells how not recognising oneself in the current state of things may generate the urge to imagine an alternative, and how such an alternative only exists when we keep the desire for it alive.
During the event, Nctm will host a nucleus
of works by Garaicoa in addition to works from nctm e l’arte collection.
