Krzysztof Wodiczko

Krzysztof Wodiczko – born in Warsaw in 1943 and active for years in the United States – expresses his activity in terms of participation in public life.

For the project Loro (Them), developed in Milan on the initiative of the More Art association of New York, the artist uses low-flying drones to induce a confrontation between individuals living in the same urban context. After collecting, thanks to the cooperation of Casa della Carità, the stories of people living in a situation of marginalization, the artist has activated a performance using as medium some drones equipped with two screens showing the eyes of the people involved in the project and a megaphone-like nose/mouth. The megaphone broadcasts the collected life stories.

The project urges the public to confront these stories and to establish a relationship of closeness and empathy that fosters mutual understanding.
