Ciprian Muresan

In the work of the Romanian artist Ciprian Muresan references to current events are often blended with references to art history. Drawing on the historical repertoire, he investigates myths, utopias, contradictions of the modern world by developing a reflection on the conditions of post-Soviet life in his country; and at the same time he addresses issues related to art and its language. In particular, his drawings often refer to well-known works of the past.

In the case of Untitled (Bosch) the reference is to the work The Garden of Delights by Hieronymus Bosch. The work includes twelve drawings of children playing inspired by details from The Garden of Delights.
